DIY Sparkly Leaf Garland Tutorial for Fall
Leaves are the quintessential fall decoration. If you want to bring the feeling of the season into your home, leaves are the way to do it! There are so many ways to incorporate them into your home decor, and today I want to share one of those ways with this DIY sparkly leaf garland!
This is another inexpensive fall DIY for you to make, with all the materials easily found at the Dollar Store! Additionally, it’s super quick to assemble–just set aside 5 minutes and you’ll have yourself a beautiful sparkly leaf garland.
- Bouquet of sparkly leaves
- Ribbon or string
- Hot glue gun
- Wire cutters
If you can’t find leaves with cutouts in them (like what I have pictured above), that’s okay. Instead of weaving the ribbon through the holes, you can simple glue the back on the leaves onto the string!
The first step is to cut the leaves off the stems with the wire cutters. You can leave a little bit of the stems on the leaves if you want, but I chose to cut mine as close to the leaf as possible.
Next, determine the pattern you want to make for your leaf garland. Once you settled on the pattern, begin weaving the ribbon through the topmost hole in your leaves.
Lay the garland out flat and space out your leaves evenly. Then, begin gluing them into place with the hot glue gun.
You can skip the gluing step if you would rather have the leaves hang freely. This will allow you to adjust them depending on where you choose to hang it–e.g. if it needs to be elongated or shortened. Gluing it, however, ensures that the leaves will face forward when you hang it up!
Once everything is glued into place, your garland is done! Hang it up on your mantle, across your window, or wherever else you think could use a nice autumn touch.
This sparkly lead garland is simple and cheap to make, but it adds an elegant touch to your decorating! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
